John and his lovely wife, Mary Rose, have been married for 57 years. Both John and his wife are native Texans. They moved to Kendall County twenty-five years ago from San Antonio and have not regretted the move. Two married daughters have given them five wonderful grandchildren.

John started his career in commercial television at KONO-TV, later to become KSAT-TV, in San Antonio in the production department working his way up to Senior Producer/Director. Following his stint at Channel 12, John received his real estate broker’s license and established his own real estate firm which he operated until the mid-80s. While in the real estate field John recognized the need for a service company to provide repair and maintenance for fellow brokers/salespeople. He established and operated such a company until his retirement six years ago.

John is service orientated. He has twice represented pro se his neighbors at the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) in Austin involving LCRA transmission line issues. He was instrumental in establishing the Texas Citizens Coalition, a now defunct organization, to fight utility company abuses of power. John was a founding member of KCCLEAA, a local 501(c)(3) where he served as Chairman of the Board. In 2021, John was picked to be one of the founding members of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Foundation (KCSOF) where he serves as a director and as Chairman of the KCSOF Blue Santa Committee. John is a long-time volunteer with the Sheriff’s Office and has been associated with the Blue Santa program for fourteen years.
